General Sheridan
Importance: Persecutor of Indians
General Philip Sheridan Sheridan was the Commander of the US Army during the Plains Wars against the Indians between the 1860s and the 1880s. He pursued Indians relentlessly. Chasing down the Kiowa, Comanche and the Cheyenne.
Sheridan had been mostly successfully in rounding the Indians of the Plains into reservations, however it was not to be over so easily. Personally appointing the reckless and feckless Custer to pursue the Cheyenne of Black Kettle in the River Washita campaign. Sheridan also extended his dubious ability to planning the Little Bighorn Campaign of 1876.
