This chronology cover the main events and structure of our topic time period 1774-1815.
The final throes of the Revolution and its excesses is the third Key Idea we will study. Runaway radicals led to the execution of the Royal family and eventually the radical leaders themselves were consumed in the revolutionary fury including Marat and Robespierre. The search for a prosperous and peaceful settlement led through the Directoire to Napoleon’s Consulate.
