The Four Humours The first and most significant thing you MUST note is that this page does NOT belong to any of the time periods. The Ideas about the Four Humours lasted for so long, and were so significant they have a page on their own. Aristotle was the first person to associate them with disease. Of course, Galen did quite a bit to publicise his ideas about the Four Humours which is why they were so popular for so long.
