KS3 History
At KS3 (Y7-9) a wide range of historical topics are offered, in particular subjects covering key events in British and World History. Each Unit has a historical skill which students need to hone and develop to improve their understanding of the Past. Click here to find out about the historical skills taught.
The Entire KS3 History Scheme forms a chronological sandwich. First students in Y7 study the Big Picture of the Past looking at themes across the whole of history such as Sport, Housing, Medicine and Crime. Then at the end Y9 conclude with a different Big Picture of the Past Unit which examines the changing role of Empires, changing relationship of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and developments in fighting and conflict over time. In between these are chronological British History Units which run from 1066-1950, and a Unit on Slavery and American History including the fight for Civil Rights in the USA.
